"Your most precious, valued possessions and your greatest powers are invisible and intangible. No one can take them. You, and you alone, can give them. You will receive abundance for your giving." ~ W. Clement Stone.
How do you feel when you have an abundance of something? Perhaps you had an abundance of zucchini in your garden this year, what did you do with it? What if there are an abundance of people in the room when you want to do yoga? Unlike zucchini, a yoga moment cannot be preserved. It won't spoil, but yoga is different moment to moment. Yoga is about how we feel and what we observe during our time on the mat, and that changes with our surroundings and experiences. Perhaps offering to share your yoga experience with those in the room with you will change your situation. Just like weeding a garden, some plants will leave, and some will persist. Others will thrive!
Even if yoga isn't what you have in abundance, your time on the mat can awaken you to realizations of what your bounties truly are. Those extras are just waiting to be shared! We know it feels great to give, and in this season of gratitude, giving and kindness, doesn't it feel even better to give gifts that come from the heart?
The Namaste Yoga team explored what we have in abundance. We realized we have an abundance of kind, caring, health-conscious people and a whole series of ways to help the world live healthier, happier, more-fit lives. We are so thankful to have such a bounty of both of these things!
If you've identified your abundance, it's time to find a way to share it! This is really the most fun part. Look for someone or something that can benefit from your abundance and who can appreciate the joy it brings you. All that is left is to tell your story and share your plan.
As we looked around, we realized the hopes and ambitions of Special Olympics are very similar to ours. We appreciate the organization's efforts to provide opportunities for those who experience disabilities to become fitter, healthier and happier as they strive to gain greater strength and control in their bodies and minds. We want to help support those efforts.
That is why we are sharing a portion of our profits with Special Olympics this holiday season. We hope that our abundance and path will inspire yours. Perhaps you will give the gift of yoga to a friend and share one of our DVDs, or donate directly to Special Olympics, or find another meaningful way to share your abundance with others. We look forward to hearing your wonderful stories of sharing in the comments below, on Facebook, or Twitter.
