Namaste Food: Superfood Yogurt Recipe

This is one of my favourite weekday breakfasts. I'll mix it up the night before and leave it in the fridge overnight for the flavours to come together and the chia seeds to soak. The end product is a thick, bright yellow yogurt that can be topped with berries, granola, or your favourite nuts and seeds. It can also be made using non-dairy yogurts. Use less almond milk and more chia seeds for a thicker yogurt. Or use regular yogurt instead of greek for a thinner, more drinkable breakfast. Play around with the ingredients and enjoy!


Superfood Yogurt Recipe (Single Serving)

  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or use sweetened if you prefer, I like to add stevia for a sugar-free version)
  • 3/4 non-fat greek yogurt (or use full fat for a creamier treat, almond or coconut for a non-dairy version)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp bee pollen
  • 1 tbsp maca powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of sea salt
  • optional toppings: berries, granola, or your favourite nut and seed combo (I like flax seeds and walnuts)


The best part of the recipe is how easy it is! 01. Mix all of the ingredients in a mason jar. Use a fork or a whisk to break up the chia seeds and ensure even soaking. Let stand for ten minutes and then mix again. 02. Put the jar in the fridge and leave overnight, or wait at least an hour before enjoying for a nutritious, superfood-charged breakfast. 03. Optional: before serving, either top the yogurt with your favourite granola, berries, or nut and seed mix. To create a colourful red and yellow parfait, I like to layer the superfood yogurt with frozen raspberries. Top with goji berries and dig in!
